Research
interests:
My main interest in forest pathology lies with diseases
that affect trees of economic importance. I am interested
in the development of new methods for controlling tree diseases,
the science of tree defense mechanisms, and basic biology
of plant pathogenic fungi. Currently my M.S. project is
focused on the histological identification of host responses
in eastern white pine to the pathogen Cronartium ribicola
(white pine blister rust). This research will help to further
our understanding of resistance mechanisms in white pine.
